“My question: What are God-worshipers like? Your answer: Arrows aimed at God’s bull’s-eye.” Psalm 25.12
What do you want to be when you grow up? What do I want to be when I realize my brightest dream? What would you do if you realized every potential you ever possessed?
Each answer carries with it a premise. The premise reflects your life’s values, priorities, desires, and dreams. I believe one bases their premise on their personal view of god. Is there a god within each human being? Is god a superior being outside of one’s body? Is god good? Is god loving or spiteful? Can god be trusted?
Answer these questions and you will know your premises of life. Couple your premises of life with you interests, skills, and desires to find your target.
Define “A”. Calculate “A + B” to understand the result.
Is life simple? On one level yes but living is totally different!
I like living! I like the excitement of each morning; waking to know God is planning something special for me. My job is to open my heart, mind, and soul to discover the beauty and wonder created just for me! Achieving my goals has a much to do with being as it does with doing.
I know there is no god within; I am inherently an evil person no matter how hard I try. There are no ifs, ands, or buts. I met, discovered, and experienced a God who is awesome, good, and loving that I trust.
For me the experiential knowledge of my premise changed the answers to my questions. My dreams are new and the boundaries of my potential are higher, deeper. I know now that when I grow up, I want to be just like God.
So what happens to people like you and me? What are we?
David’s prayer gives us our answer: We are arrows aimed at God’s bull’s-eye!
I know God’s arrows fly always hit their mark
What then do I do? Walk in faith. Fly in love. Sleep in grace. Share all I have.
