Aftermath

You could easily guess that I like planning for a wide range of potential outcomes to my choices. I always include at least one party and celebration; I also plan for at least one failure. Poor choices are a life fact. Bad things happen because of your choice or mine. At these times, what comes next?

I cannot think of a recent event where I actually sat and anticipated failure or rapid success, however, I always assume that life is going to hit a bump in the road. Given the probability of something happening (I rarely do nothing, I like to plan the steps we should take in the aftermath.

In my experience I find that planning the day after is much like planning the steps leading up to the big day. The question remains; “what do I want for another?” Am I trying to achieve a goal? Do I wish something for the other people involved? Is this course of action determined by my emotions, good or bad?

God continues to show you and I with incredible gifts. Struggling with the questions that come when someone is struck down when they are still very young age naturally drives one to reflect on just how precious your life is and mine. Understanding the poison the comes with things left unforgiven is a gift of sight into the divine nature that always forgives; even when the Divine knows that we will do it again, and then yet again, and then. . .

I watched a young child react to a surprise gift of kindness yesterday. Her eyes sparkled. She forgot to walk and just bounced around in excitement. Her voice began to trot and then run away at speed, spilling out thanks, excitement, and stories of life. All in react to a small act of kindness. What do I think of God's gift of love, acceptance, mercy, and grace?

I want to be a child again. As I take a step my wish for you is this; “God's peace be all of you. Oh, yes!” (Romans 15.33)
