I do not have a clue where they are coming from; boys between the ages of five and ten are hanging out in the cul-de-sac bordering our driveway. They look wholesome, act responsibly, and seem nice enough so far, but who are they? I really do not need to worry about the question because I have people in pursuit of the truth! They will get the facts, discern the truth, and reach an appropriate decision.
In starting my new job I have a similar wonder. Who are these people? Are they good guys or bad ones? Can I trust or do I put some on a tether? The questions are not just local! People who work for me are scattered around the world, peers are in every major financial center, and people I need to work with are in sixty plus countries. Introductions would be nice for a start.
I know many who thirst to have a sense of the Being behind the world and universe, as we know it. Their thirst is real, their quest unfulfilled, and their needs acute. They are many faces of God present in this world. Who are the good guys or bad ones? Can I trust my experience and put some on a short list to get to know better or do I just wander about? The questions are not what I grew up with! People talk and share their experiences from all points of the globe. The question is simple. How to I get a legitimate introduction?
I think you have, by reading these daily thoughts, already gained a sense of the God I know and love. She comes through in many faces. Her words say it all.
“I am Lady Wisdom, and I live next to Sanity; Knowledge and Discretion live just down the street.” (Proverbs 8.12)
I am positioned to introduce and remind you of a God who loves intensely, unconditionally accepts always, and participates fully. I think my God is unique, but I will leave that conclusion up to you. For now, here She is, enjoy!
