I enjoy geometry, the anticipation and excitement that come when you can anticipate and visualize the results before they are final. I am naturally a visual person, however, I do not think that is the real story.
England is experiencing a spell of warm weather. Everything in London shifts with the anticipation. Restaurants and cafes bring out every outside table they can find, residents find and shake out their light clothing, and smiles abound. As the warm carries on businessmen abandon their suit jackets, professional attire for women suddenly shifts as if they were latent teenagers, and everyone seems just a little more relaxed. You can see the outcome in the hours people are in the office; lunch takes a bit longer, breaks come more frequent, and fewer stay after five. Everyone is celebrating what may not last.
Today is another summer day. The sun is bright, sky an intense blue, and moderating winds slips on by. Even before things get going I can anticipate what is going to be! Great things for sure; smiles and laughs from the kids who will play and enjoy life together, good conversations between friends, and in so many ways a celebration of life from all involved!
God is here, looking to give a special blessing to all. He is with you as well. I wonder how your day will go and end. I know that “the aspirations of good people end in celebration; the ambitions of bad people crash.” (Proverbs 10.28) However, I cannot make or plot your choice for you, it is yours and yours alone.
I can tell you that walking with God is similar to, yet far better than the glory of an English summer day. You can have the abandoned life and excitement we enjoy today, and it does not have to end. You have in your hands a gift from God that you can enjoy everyday, regardless, for eternity. Anticipating a life with God is awesome and mysterious! It is all yours, from God’s hand to you and me. Saying “yes” starts the journey.
