“In the chaos we call life how do you really know your plans are going to work?”
So goes that question that I am hit with at least once every two weeks. How do I know it is going to work? Well, I don’t. Frankly I have put a lot of things in motion that if, God willing and I have covered my bases, might come together in the right way and in the right time to resemble what I intended to build when things began many months and often years ago. Since we launched much has happened, some helping refine our vision and goals but some destructive and divisive.
So goes the standard answer. If you caught me in a quiet corner, my testimony would be very different. I would tell you that if you want to follow my steps then “do your best, prepare for the worst – then trust God to big victory.” (Proverbs 21.31) At any step along the way God has and will step in and take charge. How else can you explain Spirit led consulting processes when we have global meetings? How else does one understand the peace coming to the team in the midst of turmoil and conflict from the outside?
Big living, life at the max, means life is on a knife edge. You painfully wonder if things are going to collapse or get worse. They often do and yet you survive and in fact often succeed in ways that you could not imagine! The incredible part of this lifestyle is that you have the opportunities to get much of what God offers, yet there is even more that we often leave on the table.
God offers us balance in the middle of taking on the awesome challenges. It comes as you spend quiet time listening to the Spirit each day.
God offers us mercy when everything demands judgment. It comes as we accept what God has already prepared.
God offers us hope through the veil of impending darkness. It comes when we accept in faith what is offered.
