The clich? tells me timing is everything. The underlying theme goes back to a saying attributed to the wise man Solomon saying something that there is a season for everything. Regardless of the ultimate origins of the saying it has been with us for a long time. I believe this is because it applies to aptly to pivotal moments in our lives. Just when we are willing to give up, hope arrives. As things get worse and we think they have gotten as bad as they can be, serious darkness arrives. If we push and push some more, things break.
The latter can be good or it can be bad. It is often hard to predict which it is going to be, especially as one is in the middle to struggling with survival itself. I believe that there is a lesson running through all of this that we often miss. Perhaps timing, being at the right place at the right time, pushing in the right way in the right manner in the right moment, and being ready to act with the moment presents itself is directly related to flowing with and having faith in the Spirit.
This isn’t new. As John’s revelation unfolded the previously unopened seals, the seals that only one person in the universe could open, finally became open it was as if everyone was prepared!
“When he ripped off the third seal, I heard the third Animal cry, “Come out!” I looked. A black horse this time. Its rider carried a set of scales in his hand. I heard a message (it seemed to issue from the Four Animals).” (Revelation 6.5)
In the moment of opportunity one knows it is time to act when the journey is in sync with the Spirit. Anything else is a waste of worry and hope. Today is a fresh opportunity to step back, fall into the Spirit, and let it rip. God’s power and our response can be extremely powerful together. The only question is our timing. Our timing depends all on responding to God’s lead. Ready?
