When I try to describe the bank operations I work with in India two things almost always happen. First, the listener is so overwhelmed by the words that comprehension becomes impossible. The listener’s mind seems to go into mode of thinking that is easy to ready from the person’s body language. Remarks include the following.
This cannot possibly be true! No way! You must be spinning a story; I refuse to accept that it can possibly be fact! Impossible! Are you so crazy, dumb, or stupid to think that I am going to accept this myth?
The second response doesn’t vary at the end. This individual has probably been to India at some point in time or known someone who has. Their reaction is geared by the “facts” that they know to be true. India is a developing economy. India’s infrastructure is inferior to anywhere else. People in India are unable, unwilling, or incapable of doing first class work in a short period of time. As I tell the story everything in their being goes into overdrive, denial, inability to listen, and unwillingness to hear all form part of their feedback.
Some of what both parties believe to be true was true in the past; yet it isn’t true about today or the future! The accomplishments of the team in constructing new premises, executing new strategies, and delivering results is world class, exceptional, and mind defying results are cold hard facts! They exist. They deliver. Almost anything can be done.
When the skeptics come they shake their heads and walk away believers. Their testimony is sure.
People are never quite sure of what they cannot see. Yet testimonies make a difference. John “saw Heaven and earth new-created. Gone the first Heaven, gone the first earth, gone the sea.” (Revelation 21.1) I have seen God accomplish the same things in people’s hearts. Both are miracles beyond imagination, yet they are facts. Today is a fresh opportunity to step out in a belief step; God wants to start a new reality with you now. Why wait? Why hesitate?
