What if you knew Divinity was involved directly and intimately with your life? Would things be different, your behavior, approach, even attitude, if signs, affirmations, and confirmations appeared in response to your requests, fears, and needs? Does even possibility of these things being real shape your thinking?
The impossible happens every day. When it does, skeptics analyze, probe, and work to reach a conclusion on how the physical events naturally occurred. In the process they often ignore or skip the possibility of Divinity being out on display. Yet, impossible things do happen. When some pray even unbelievers are healed. Obstacles everyone assumes are permanent are being overcome daily! Physical records are broken, incredible works of beauty realized, and goals are reached. Yesterday’s impossibilities are today’s achievements.
I wonder if anyone of us appreciates how Divinity is involved in our lives. It is almost as if the pious talk a good game, but even they don’t really believe. As I look back I can recall miracles and moments where God was present.
Some of the events appeared on queue as if I choreographed them on command. “‘Father, put your glory on display.’
A [Divinity’s] voice came out of the sky: ‘I have glorified it, and I'll glorify it again.’”” (John 12.28)
When I remember I find three consistent ingredients were present.
I was open and ready for Divinity to act. It wasn’t that I assumed; rather that I was focused the mission of my life. I knew I needed help and I was open.
I was looking for Divinity’s footprint. I expected signs. I found encouragement when I found them. Even in life’s mundane, God was and is there.
I stayed focused. It never was about me. It was always about compassionate love and mercy playing out in life.
I’ve seen the possibilities play out in day to day living. I experienced the reality of Divinity’s touch and presence. The process didn’t end yesterday, it could be here today. The questions are simple. Am I open, looking, and focused on the possibilities? Are you?
