Sometimes in history, before your day and mine I know, it was obvious who was here to instruct. The roles of those with wisdom was defined. One know the roles and responsibilities. It seems easy now to know where to look for help. Today things are confusing, at best. Those we trust for leadership, spiritual, moral, and thought, fail and take advantage of the weak. Those we empower seem to have lost their compass and knowledge – they fail in amazing glory in the most public of ways. Even those wrapped with spiritual clothes appear to regularly walk nakedly, without connection or thought of Divinity.
I wonder where one finds one’s source of guidance. The harsh reality is rests that “these also, the priest and prophet, stagger from drink, weaving, falling-down drunks, besotted with wine and whiskey, can't see straight, can't talk sense. Every table is covered with vomit. They live in vomit.
‘Is that so? And who do you think you are to teach us? Who are you to lord it over us? We're not babies in diapers to be talked down to by such as you— ‘Da, da, da, da, blah, blah, blah, blah. That's a good little girl, that's a good little boy.’’” (Isaiah 28.7-10)
There has got to be more than one we find.
The wonder of life’s journey is how God engages in your life and mine. There are Divine whispers, melodies, and images filling our souls if we are willing to openly listen. It is scary, God talking to you and I. What does God demand? Is God expecting something from us? What rules, boundaries, and requirements will be enforced?
Sadly we imagine God in a way God never intended.
God offers us beauty without boundaries, imagination without end, and accepting love without condition. These gifts are our way out of life’s terror, pain, and anger. Hope lies in our eyes, ears, and experience. Our Father and Mother welcomes into a wonderful family and community filled with wonder and dreams. In the present lies the way out; seize the day.
