Understanding

As I listened to a friend, I discovered reminders and an awareness of how much of communication is not verbal.  We know but often forget that body movements, tone, and facial expressions are our largest voice.  What our head and mind knows and understands is often very different from what would hearts senses as truth.  Hearts and souls seem to have a mind of their own.  What remains in each often sits in direct conflict with the content of the other.  In this battle, heart knowledge is usually far more powerful than what remains in our hearts.
Each generation receives a contextual lesson of God from their parents and peers.  We may or may not have something formally articulated.  Some experience formal ceremonies and rituals while others go through life with an experience that is, at best, tangential.  In all circumstances, we come out of the experience with an established set of personal values, priorities, and principles.  We may not realize how our hearts have written the code on our hearts, it may not be visible to those on the outside, yet our hearts know.
I have come to appreciate the volume, intensity, and at time conflicting messages in my life.   While I assumed I was speaking in a consistently logical construct, the reality is quite different.  I spoke to Cherry, Carli, and Whitney in ways I did not understand.  My conversation was frequently a lot more candid than I ever intended.  As I reflect, I pray that the desires of my heart came through in the conversations with their soul.
Fortunately we have a God that is intentional.  God understands how we may read more into a message than is there.  In the quietness, God reminds us that “if anyone attacks you, don't for a moment suppose that I sent them, and if any should attack, nothing will come of it.”  (Isaiah 54.15)  God goes on to remind us that we will always be children of Divinity, members of the family.  With the dawn we have an opportunity to connect our head and heart knowledge.
