New chapters and beginnings are not always clear, at least in my life. It is only after the fact that one realizes what has and is happening in one's life. It is helpful to understand how one can and should see the future. We might think it is dark and uncertain, yet in reality nothing could be further from the truth.
Books often introduce themselves. Sometimes the references are merely clues, mysterious tidbits waiting for us to discover. On other occasions the words reveal themselves with blunt clarity. Each writer has a different approach. I find one introduction is a model that God takes with your life and mine; “Dear Theophilus, in the first volume of this book I wrote on everything that Jesus began to do and teach until the day he said good-bye to the apostles, the ones he had chosen through the Holy Spirit, and was taken up to heaven.” (Acts 1.1, 2)
We may think there is little purpose or plan in our lives. God tells us something quite different. God reminds us that we are children of Divinity. We share a common heritage and future. God has laid out the challenge and the only question lies in our response. We are invited to engage in life, to the fullest. We are given personal ambassadors of God to walk and be with us at all times. We are given assurance from Divinity that the end of the story has already been written; the good guys win! Truth will conquer. Compassion will win the day. Community trumps self.
In the midst of your story and mine it is often hard to remember the introduction of our lives. God anticipate our existence and took care of the details. God knew what was coming and organized the resources we have and will need. God understood our need to belong and made a choice to live in your life and mine. You and I have the critical points of clarity we need to live fully and completely. The key lies in our willingness to see clearly.
