Unexpected

A celebrity was recently asked about what he was doing in the future.  After struggling with broken relationships as well as drugs and alcohol, it was a question worth pondering.  My paraphrase of his answer is – “I have no idea!  I am learning to live in each moment as they come.  There is so much to do now that I do not have time to worry about the future.”
It is easy for the logical, planning, control side of me to find much I disagree with.  As his words echo and haunt me days later, I find my arguments continuing to get weaker and weaker.  Yes, one needs to establish a foundation in order to step into the present as well as the future.  Yes, one needs to have the goal in mind before reveling in the present.  Yes, there is merit in looking at the bigger picture.  As I listen to my words, what I said, implied, and did not say; I find that the answer to all and more lies in the unexpected moment at hand. 
Am I willing to experience heaven in the present?  Will I embrace the wonders of compassions, the joys of mercy, and the awe of community right now?
Can I look at this moment through eyes that believe God is engaged with me?  Will I let God embrace me with forgiveness and acceptance? 
Should I let go of yesterday and tomorrow in order to live with what I have?  Will I let the reality of Divinity's view be mine?
In an old story, one of my heroes was able to do what I can only aspire.  Every day, each moment filled with the unexpected.  Inspired that the moment was at hand “Joseph revealed his true identity to his brothers and introduced the Jacob family to Pharaoh.  Then Joseph sent for his father, Jacob, and everyone else in the family, seventy-five in all.  That's how the Jacob family got to Egypt.” (Acts 7.14, 15)  God had a plan and Joseph played into God hand.
