Visions

Traditionalists often embrace the idea that the day of anyone having a vision is in the past.  Visions, breakthroughs, and Divine insights are not part of living.  They have no relationships to business plans, life developments, or relationships.  If someone suggests they have an insight or anything akin to a vision, then there must be a manipulation motive.  Visions are merely ideas dancing in someone's imagination; only a misguided individual would suggest that anyone pay attention to them.
I find that there is a lot more going on in the world than anyone imagines.  Divinity is present and working with people.  Traditional human boundaries of theology and dogma do not limit God's willingness to work with individuals where they are.  Divine conversations are occurring throughout the day.  At times, it is a sense of God's presence in your life or mine.  On other occasions, an impression or urge directs our thinking.  Some, usually not frequently, there are those that hear God voice and experience a three dimensional conversation.
I know that it is odd to talk or write about this.  While I often sense God's voice, I do not know of any visions in my recent past.  Yet, I have seen God at work.  When someone has a vision, especially if they suggest they are having one, “Oh!  I see heaven wide open and the Son of Man standing at God's side!” (Acts 7.56)  Even believers are not sure how to respond. 
I do know that it is important for us to listen.  We lose when we miss opportunities to hear God's voice.  We are weaker when we walk alone; interacting with God will strengthen each in the long term.  We may occasionally be foolish, thinking we heard or saw something we did not, but I believe it is worth trying to listen.
God is talking to you and me.  God is giving us insights and even visions.  With today dawn, the first messages are sinking home; we are loved.  We are part of God's family.  Everything is possible.  I am looking forward to the details.
