Compelling

Truth, when experienced in action, is compelling.  As I encounter truth, I find the experience pushing me to acknowledge its power, wonder, and beauty.  I find renewed energy as I experience the compelling purpose of Singapore's acceptance of cultures, faiths, and practices.  I rediscover hope's force as I watch children blossom as people in their community truly care.  I find the strength to walk into the darkness as others shared truth filled compassion, mercy, and understanding.  Each is an example of truth touching someone somewhere today.
It is easy to be caught in the business of today's world.  Information floods one's senses.  Demands overwhelm one's ability to comprehend and respond coherently.  Fears and uncertainties can drive a dark cloud over one's soul.
The world demands are a distraction that we would do well to ignore.  As we embrace truth's compelling call, our souls will find themselves renewed.  This is never a process where we only receive.  Embedded in our experience of truth is a call to action.  We are called to exercise compassion in our actions.  We are called to extend mercy, especially to those that may not find it anywhere else.  We are called to community, living out the reality of what it means to unconditionally accept our enemies as brothers and sisters in God's family.
There are examples where those before us have responded to this call.  “Going down to a Samaritan city, Philip proclaimed the Message of the Messiah.  When the people heard what he had to say and saw the miracles, the clear signs of God's action, they hung on his every word.” (Acts 8.5, 6)
In today's dawn there is a call waiting for you and me.  We are Divinity's agents of truth.  Our lives, the choices and decision we make, can be living examples of truth.  Even in our failures, we can model the process of recreation.  Even as we stumble, in humbleness we can accept help from others.  We are in this together, each a child of the God of love, truth, and community.  It is a compelling reality.
