Everywhere I look I see signs of past organizations. It is as if we are in a time loop, forever repeating the past. I wonder if I am any different? Am I caught in the circle as well? Am I taking action the same way I have always taken action? Will the lessons of today make a difference in the moment tomorrow?
There are reasons to be concerned. When something familiar happens, I automatically prescribe the cause and learning. Since I have, in theory, already taken the learning on, there is nothing left to do but move on. No lessons are available. No response or reaction to the individuals involved. It is a been there done that kind of arrogance.
I know today’s symptoms are indicators of more. It is important to recognize the details of what is going on. Decision points will come. A flood of indicators tells a story, even if you do not know what it is.
Divinity often reminds us that our choices matter. We cannot just assume we understand what is going on. “Children, time is just about up. You heard that Antichrist is coming. Well, they’re all over the place, antichrists everywhere you look. That’s how we know that we’re close to the end.” (1 John 2.18)
Additionally, yesterday’s lessons may not fit the context of the present. As accurate as they might have been, the experiences that others bring to the moment at hand are different. We live with a standing invitation to see with open eyes.
Everything leads me to the moment I find myself in. I hold an opportunity to be part of the lives of everyone round me. It is a window that is filled with awe and fear. I hope I make a difference for good. I want to be part of the solution.
Today’s signs will be new. Everything is open, ready for my engagement. Anything is possible. What happens next will pivot on the choices we make. I may want to hesitate, but now is not the time. It is time to live.
