The team is on the leading edge. I listened to their dialogue, watched a demonstration, and considered the issues they were wrestling with. As time passed, I realized my view was dramatically understated. Each feature, every strength was bigger, better, and more robust.
As I consider the lessons which continue to emerge, I find myself called to examine several views with fresh eyes. As I do this, the reminders within the lesson include the following.
What I see is more than the sum of the facts. I find my view is short-sighted when I accept the initial view as holistically complete. As I explore the nuances of the scene, seek to understand what is behind the scenes and the context of the various players, a whole new picture emerges. The initial picture is correct, but there is more.
Improbability and impossibility are often ignored when one is witnessing the event. Unless I take the time to understand the broader world, consider the obstacles and barriers to what I now know is unfolding, I will think anyone could have brought the result to life. As the story and details unfold, I realize how unique the situation is. The players brought inspiration, hard work, and a willingness to endure. There was a special spark with gave them the innovation idea that I now see emerging. It seems simple even as I realize how special it is.
When one has experienced overwhelming darkness, one will always carry an appreciation for the light which one now sees. It is in the details, context, and awareness of how dark it has been, that I realize how valuable something is. To one who does not know this, it may seem like an easy accomplishment. It is up to those who came before, to retell the story and convey how important and valuable this is.
I start today considering the psalmist note; Divinity “dumped Pharaoh and his army in the sea, His love never quits.” (Psalm 136.15) This was so impossible and yet it was accomplished. Divinity’s love, then and now, never quits.
