Traveling, meals with new friends, and reflecting are natural friends. A recent trip was filled with opportunities, amazing conversations, and reflections that keep replaying in my mind. The whispers, shared and heard, help me see and hear, understand and consider. They are now shaping my future.
Opportunities must be seen to have a chance. Life, old and new, is talking to us, giving us opportunities to respond. When I miss them, intentionally, naively, or ignorantly, they are lost. In those moments where my heart, senses, and soul are open in harmony, I can see what I otherwise would miss. It is an opportunity for learning, growing, and being intentional.
Opportunities must be embraced to have a chance. I love harmony. I am a massive fan of collaboration. I believe the world can be a better place. For any of this to be true, I must decide to be intentional. In my freedom, I can build my foundation with the material of my choosing. For an opportunity to have a chance, it requires the right foundation.
Seen, chosen, and then actioned is required for peace to be a real opportunity. It is in thinking, knowing, and acting that I give peace the chance it deserves. One faith writer described my opportunity; “From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That’s what Jesus did.” (Romans 6.11) I have an opportunity that I can bring to life with my choices, decisions, and actions.
Life is filled with opportunities, chances to make a difference. I came away resolved to give peace and harmony a chance. I came away committed to be a force for good. I came away with a sense and belonging to a community that shares my dreams. To those we serve, you are the best and you also deserve the best.
Today is my opportunity to give peace a chance. After all, love is all you need.
