My heart, mind, and soul were tired. There were no major events leading to this awareness. Life’s small stuff had been taking a toll for so long that my inner drawers were empty. I knew I needed to take a break however small it might be. As I sat down for breakfast knowing I had six hours ahead of me in the day to myself, life gently reminded me that I was not just looking for a break. I needed to invest in myself.
I left LPQ refreshed and energized. It was an investment that touched my emotions, physical needs, and vision. Even as it was unfolding, the principles and values the investment represented were coming into clear focus.
The asparagus and herb omelette took me to Provence. I was with friends, sharing the benefits of the land and all that it offered. The shared investment in each other was life changing. Three immediate changes. My soul was refreshed with their embrace. In knowing I belonged, I heard Divinity’s call to action with new clarity. Experiencing unconditional kindness and care, opened my mind to Divinity’s gift for you and me.
Smiles, conversation, and attention from the staff took my experiences into action. Their gifts of hearing, sharing, and service refreshed my understanding of what a call to action could look like. The two sides of giving and receiving reconnected the dots within my heart and soul while informing my mind. Their kindness and care refilled my reserves of courage, resolve, and hope. In the end, I felt lighter and energised. I was certain I could contribute to moving towards a better future.
I left then and start my day now resolved to invest in myself and others. An old calling comes is in focus; “Our Scriptures tell us that if you see your enemy hungry, go buy that person lunch, or if he’s thirsty, get him a drink. Your generosity will surprise him with goodness.” (Romans 12.20). In each moment, windows will open. Today is my investment opportunity to fill the gaps and address the needs.
