The Dutch café food and service were excellent. Good food in a welcoming ambience and service with a smile is a great setting for fun conversation and reflection. Looking back, I appreciate everything that went into the experience. If there was a single element that tied it all together, I would say that everyone shared a good heart.
It was interesting to consider the light of kindness and care that was cast over the table, just like the light above us that cast a warm glow to the setting. If anything failed, given my experience in the moment, I would assume that the person or object was no longer connected to the source of happiness and power that led to everything that followed.
As a new day begins, my goal is to remain connected to the source that powers a good heart. Life reminds me that several guides can help me achieve my goal.
We are in this together. Harmony and support are far more important than highlighting our differences. Life is hard enough. I do not need to make it more difficult, for another or myself. Bluntly put, “It’s God we are answerable to – all the way from life to death and everything in between – not each other.” (Romans 14.8)
We are on the same side. We share the same source of power regardless of the label we put on it. When I experience kindness and care, I know we are allies. When someone is in distress or could use support, it is a shared opportunity to bring our best selves to the moment. It is in caring for another that I discover the best version of myself.
The most powerful words I can express are through the actions I take, especially when nobody is looking, and there is no reward. When I choose to embrace the forgotten, lift the fallen, or bring comfort to those who are suffering, I experience what it is like to be Divine. It is an opportunity available to anyone willing to be connected to the source.
