A three-part art piece is installed in front of the building. From every direction, when I approach, one image dominates the other two. Mentally, I know they stand as equals. The two other pieces weigh more, take up more space, and, in theory, hold their own with the third. My experience tells me otherwise. Power and influence are not directly linked to size and number. Power originates from the content within, combined with the memory it leaves with individuals. In short, simple and small can dominate any moment.
Each time I pass, I am reminded that “Wisdom puts more strength in one wise person than ten strong men give to a city.”(Ecclesiastes 7.19)
As today begins, I sit above the pieces, watching as they are at the scene that is unfolding. Men are at work, the sun is rising, and the day is clearly on its way. Even as I consider the art piece, I hear Life’s whispers offering me considerations for the day ahead.
My journey is a story of one. Yes, others complete the story. Divinity, family, friends, and random individuals have roles. Some are big, some small. There are pivotal moments where my story lurches from one direction to another. The one constant is me. There is, in my best moments, a second constant, Divinity. She is by my side as often and consistently as I permission. The observation is not a commentary on Divinity’s heart; otherwise, I would be one with Her. This reflects the opportunity that is given to me with my creation and remains with me until I pass on. Who am I considering my freedom to choose and the purpose that follows?
My story is revealed in words and actions. I stand for something. When people look through me, the details in each moment speak of how I am using my freedom and time. My heart is shared. My soul is open for examination, brick by brick, as I build the monument of what I treasure.
It is time. I know the story I want to write today.
