The past two days were ones filled with great expectations. People attending our meeting were looking for leadership and an experience that would quench their thirst for something that work was not giving them. Others who were watching the event expected that from this day forward we would know something new, come away changed, and believe that we could accomplish the impossible. Clearly, it was and is unrealistic to expect anything similar to the full expectations to be a reality.
I am not so sure anymore.
God asks each of us to release our control over every aspect of our life. If any good comes from the last two days, it is because of the Presence's gift of strength to me so that I could give things up to Him. It may sound strange, but I felt directed to take one step at a time with Him through each step in the process without knowing or understanding where the step would take us towards our business models and team integration goals. Every time I planned an agenda, the groups came back with something very different from what I was looking for, yet it was very good. After the third breakout result, I conceded to God's control. Things really got moving at that point!
I always forget the meaning behind the second part of the truth statement. “God hates cheating in the marketplace; he loves it when business is aboveboard.” (Proverbs 11.1) I forget that God not only cares about us individually; he also really enjoys being part of our full lives. This includes when we eat breakfast, he likes to be part of the experience. This includes when we earn our living, he seeks to be part of our interactions and achievements. God is not sitting idle, pursuing His own pleasure. God is here.
The conference shifts into a new phase today. Yes, I know the areas we need to cover, however, I will leave the details to God. God is asking you and I to live focused on the moment. Do this and win big.
