The world is full of uncertainty. The ideas of new political leadership, challenges to long held traditions and views, or the reality of a need to put one's self totally in the hands of others tears at the core of one's self confidence. The fear is real. One should not take much time trying to deny its existence, this will only increase the grip fear has on one's soul. In uncertainty, I find that it is best time to carefully examine the heart of one's values while holding onto the truth that rests in the core of our hearts.
In good times and bad, God has chosen to make a home for Divinity within us. The place God knows as home was prepared even before our birth. From a time before our knowledge, God has been at work working to restore our souls to all that they were designed to be.
In good times and bad, there is a kernel of wonder, beauty, and grace living within us. We know it by many names, even God. In our self-awareness or lack of it, Divinity is working to show us how incredible our potential is when combined with God. Yet, simply making a home in us, and creating the potential for us to experience heaven in the present, was never the end goal.
God gave us Divinity Spirit to guide, comfort, and mentor. For another in a time of doubt, the Spirit's “voice came a second time: 'If God says it's okay, it's okay.'” (Acts 10.15) This permission did not remove the uncertainty. The Spirit's voice gave one the confidence to see beyond the uncertainty at hand.
I find myself facing a moment of extreme uncertainty. There are valid reasons for the uncertainty. To focus on these reasons is merely an excuse not to see what lies beyond my sight. I find myself hearing God's quiet whisper, “If God says it will be okay, it's okay.” As is always the case, God is with us. We are invited to be with God, holding faith and hope's hand.
