In the past few days I have watched a group of individuals experience what banking operations looks like in modern India. Whatever one might imagine, reality is always different. I am not sure if it is the professionalism, competitive spirit, or willingness to always be learning that is the key difference. When you put all three together, you have the ingredients for something that I have only found in India. Other locations have one or even two elements; India often has all three.
As profound as each experience was, there was something I saw for the first time in this group. In hindsight, I have seen it before. It is the awareness that comes when an individual realizes that someone knows more than /he does. If there was a common thread that I saw in the group, it was the realization that they could be greater than they were if they teamed up with others who knew more.
The reminder triggered a reflection that continues to ripple in my thoughts. Others know more than I do. It extends well beyond those I easily identify. It goes right to the bounds of my imagination. “For God is greater than our worried hearts and knows more about us than we do ourselves.” (1 John 3.20)
The awareness opens up possibilities. As individuals in the group began to talk about what their future could be like if they teamed up with the center, I found myself wondering what life could be like if I let others in. The possibilities are endless. Together we could do great things. If we team up, working towards a common goal opens up a new future.
I know the India operations can make a positive difference to the individuals that are willing to take a chance. My renewed awareness of the possibilities of what can occur with More has created a thirst for the possible. Today is a gateway that opens with the choices and actions that you and I take. Life comes with more than we imagine. Others are what make this possible.
