Several days this week began with a morning coffee as I relaxed in the Monty Café. In addition to the welcoming vibe, there was an overwhelming sense of peace and possibilities. I know the first time I picked up my coffee that I was reminded of my worth with their motto, “You are the best”.
In the reflections that followed, several life reminders emerged.
I know as I stand alone and, on my merits, that I am not the best. I appreciate the encouragement, however, in the darkest moments of the night when truth is all that stands, I can see myself in the good and the bad, the darkest corners, and the light. I cannot imagine that I am the best because this world needs so much more.
I also know that when I am wrapped in unconditional love, acceptance, and forgiveness, I along with others am the best. Divinity is what Monty Café aspires to be, premium. It is an oasis, welcoming those on the journey. As I relax, enjoying the excellent coffee, setting, and time of reflection, I know that with Divinity wrapped around my heart and soul, I am the best.
Being the best takes work. Fortunately, Divine love was in action before I even knew She existed. Every faith describes it differently. One writer used these words; “When Jesus died, he took sin down with him, but alive he brings God down to us.” (Romans 6.10) In my embrace of what was prepared for me, everything is fulfilled. Divinity lives within me. I can, with Divine strength and courage, be the force of care, compassion, and community. Kindness is possible, a gift to be actioned in my day. The experience of belonging happens when I accept as I have been accepted.
Life begins when I accept the cup of being the best. As I sipped, enjoying the aromas, the warmth, and the coffee notes, I found myself drifting into Divinity’s presence. In knowing where I belonged, I found myself with opportunities to share. Life is for engaged, passionate, and full living.
