I love the passage of spring. Even in an area dominated by sand, there are blooms in the grasses, house plants, and trees lining the streets. As I walked by a familiar path lined with a grass variety, I was trapped by the sight of the bloom caught in the reflective light and wind. I sat, watching, reflecting for a time, letting Life’s whispers take me where they willed. I found myself coming back to individuals who, knowingly as well as unknowingly, have touched my life. Each changed me in some way. In the moment, I was aware that something was unfolding and yet, it was only with the bloom of time that I understood what had happened with a sense of clarity.
There are amazing blooms in my life, each revealing more about hope, wonder, and awe. I wish I had been aware at the time, especially so I could recognise and thank each one for their contribution to my life. For many, I missed the window. My best response to the memory and their contribution is found in taking the lesson into the day ahead of me.
Good outcomes and results can take time. Gifts are meant to be used in every stage of life. Making the right decision, expressing the right words, are actions taken because it is the best you can offer to others. The season in which it will bloom is outside of one’s control. In celebrating the gift, one expresses faith in love and Divinity’s ability to help it grow.
Beauty is not an expression of money or power. Beauty is an expression found in the actions of people, in the colours and textures of the artist’s hand, and in displays of nature. The emotions revealed through the language of a body can take the mundane to something one struggles to describe. Extraordinary beauty reveals the emotions of the author. As a writer, the opportunities today will come to me.
We are life’s ultimate blooms. “Holy embraces all around! All the churches of Christ send their warmest greetings!” (Romans 16.16)
