“God! Let the cosmos praise your wonderful ways, the choir of holy angels sing anthems to your faithful ways!” Psalm 89.5
England is the only place on earth where all four seasons cruise by in a day. Spring, with lots of rain; summer with hot spells of sunshine; fall and rain again; finalize everything with winter with more rain, wind and cold. Everything you could ask or look for in one 24-hour period. Pick your season and on any given day you can celebrate its’ arrival! The season can be fleeting so being on the lookout is an absolute requirement! Enjoy the anticipation as you see it come, wallow in the joy of the moment, and relish the experience as it goes.
Too often people use this as a recipe for experiencing God.
We anticipate God coming in a specific place. We try to enjoy the potential experience when we are there. We wonder about our thirst when the experience is over.
Yesterday, I watching the dark rain clouds roll in and out of our lives. The sun alternated coming down in buckets with the wind whistling through the shade trees. Whitney celebrated finding money in a water puddle. Everyone enjoyed the time meeting old friends and wondering through the neighborhood. God seems to be celebrating at every corner. A solar eclipse brings the wonder and God’s awesome creativity to a whole continent. Sun and breezes warm and cool people of all walks, faiths, and beliefs. Flowers blossom and spread their color and beauty in too many corners to count!
I suggest it is time to let our hair down and celebrate! We can have a party – God is already here so why do we appear to be waiting for another time? Every day, each decision and life experience is an opportunity to say what we think about God and life’s opportunities.
It is time to party! God loves you and me! There is nothing to stop the best experience life has to offer (God) except me! Get on board, the good news train is acomin!
