There is a difference when you know someone is fighting with you. Team sports are all about making the sum of the part greater than the linear answer. Success hinges on the ability of different people with different skills to leverage each others abilities in a way that multiplies individual efforts. When one knows that the team is there, ready and willing to push for the collective goal – well, anything is possible!
Usually the early morning is about being alone and staying alone until you really wake up. No matter how busy and crowded life is there is a realization when you wake up that you have been utterly and truly alone with you sleep. Even if there is someone nearby your dreams and nightmares cannot be fully and completely shared. Yet knowing that someone is fight with you makes a big difference on the day. Too often I wake to find that the problems of yesterday have grown and that my “allies” have journeyed even farther from my side. It is as if there is a group of plotters that are determined I should be completely isolated! Life is difficult; challenging; and lonely. Am I alone on this island?
When I think of God it is as if Divinity has left me alone in this world to discover my path. Where is the guidance? Where is the protection? Where is the comfort or companionship?
I have friends that I know will fight with me; anytime, anyplace, and at any cost. When I think of them I know I am not alone and more than that I know that together we can win! Confidence is an automatic result of relationship.
I have experienced what it is like to be in relationship with Divinity. The experience never leaves. So when I hear that “‘the sins I haven't already forgiven, I'll forgive.’ God has moved into Zion for good.” (Joel 3.21) I know that I am not alone, I and we will win, and there are lots of reasons to be confident. The team is open – join us.
