The setting sun captured and silhouetted several buildings on the corniche. I fortunately saw the view as I turned to see the source of the reflection bouncing off the walls. Thinking back to the moment, it feels as though Life had something to say. The context and reflections spoke to me of design, purpose, and origins.
Each building reflected a unique perspective. There were five of us sharing a table. While we shared a few experiences, we represented five unique perspectives. Different childhoods, schooling, and dramas resulted in a fun variety of perspectives, attitudes, and personalities. In the mix of it all, it was clear to me that our shared love of life and diversity combined for interesting dialogue and more.
Each building and individual illustrated what is possible. I wonder if the designers of the corniche buildings had any idea of what the city would become with time. I think back to my dreams and imagination of what it would be like to grow old. Candidly, it seems like I did not think far enough ahead. Fortunately, Divinity did. In my choices and actions along the way, I have constructed the edifice of my heart and soul. I am thankful for the mentors and guidance I received. I accept responsibility for my path and am thankful to those who help me in my attempts to stay true to the best values within. In hindsight the promise made is as realised as I let it be, “Every house has a builder, but the Builder behind them all is God.” (Hebrews 3.4)
In all moments, the light of care and kindness can be reflected. Even as the sun left us in the west, I found myself bathed in a reflective glow. I was reminded of Divinity’s reach and embrace. It is both direct and through others. It reaches me, especially when I turn towards the source in the moment.
Today is an opportunity to stand tall. I can reflect the designer of my life. Each moment is a window for light’s revelation in my words and actions.
