I know that I must be a pain to work with. Perfection is a requirement. Discipline is not an option. Aggressiveness is a norm. One must have confidence bordering on arrogance as a true requirement. We always meet promises on time, below budget, and above expectations. We will not accept any excuses. Failure, except because of death, is not an option. These rules apply to everything!
The work team's attitude is candid, honest, aggressive, and functioning. We carry a common sense of purpose, knowledge of what we are up against, and team dependence. Those who did not fall into line moved on. Directions were clear. Time to make a move!
Now as we move into the final phases of the challenge it is time for many on the team to move to the next game. Things will never be the same. That is ok, because we know where we stand with each other. We will always share something special.
Solomon laid out our life directive. “Earn a reputation for living well in God's eyes and the eyes of the people.” (Proverbs 3.4)
Too many try to do the job on their own, never willing to recall that the task is individually impossible. Frequently we fall into a repetitive cycle. We repeatedly make the same mistakes, always having our self as the key constant! Unable to break the pattern, we bury ourselves in pity and failure while wearing a robe of satisfaction and success.
No more! Teamwork is the only answer. Knowing one's true standing, attitude of the other parties involved, and the directive is crucial. Exercising trust, especially with those who are untrustworthy is important. This is not a game; this is life! Your, my, very soul is at risk!
You need to discover your mission. I cannot do it for you. I can tell you two things. God is always on your side; accepting you just as you are and giving you confidence that He will win the ultimate prize. Our role is to be God's reach and touch in the world around us. Teamwork!
