The conference opened a door for me to meet one of my coaching clients in person. While it was the 63rd event, it was a first for me. I found myself in a conference for people who often lead and hold conferences themselves. The past two days have been fun ones of discovery affirmed by experience.
Life is using the affirmed experience to open new points of awareness for changes in how I see the day ahead.
Every experience is an opportunity. Learning, awareness, and insights are just the beginning. I heard a reminder whisper that challenged how I approached a given moment. I always find something new when I open myself up to the possible. When I come in anticipating and expecting, it is as if I am setting barriers to everything that will follow. This conference opened the door to relaxing, letting go, and being intentionally willing to take each moment for what it could be. The result was a fun, engaging, and thought-provoking time of learning, awareness, and insight.
Our emotions and thoughts will affirm what we see, hear, and mentally consume. I have come to appreciate that, for me, it takes both to complete the process of letting the insight sink into my heart and mind. I am not the first writer to describe this reality. Across the generations, the writer of one book noted that “The Holy Spirit confirms this.” (Hebrews 10.15) This author spoke of something others could not directly see happening within him except through the confirmation’s results in his words and actions.
Discoveries are seeds that create opportunities to be a better person and make a difference in the lives of those we interact with. Discoveries have value when they are used. Discoveries in and of themselves are worthless. This changes when each is combined with a partner who uses them for learning and action. In a world where every moment contains an opportunity for discovery, I find reasons for hope and change.
Today is underway. Each moment is an opportunity for kindness and caring to come alive.
