I looked up from the walk, and a single building dominated my view. There was no question that this was the focus of my attention. In addition to the size and prominence, the way light bounced off the surface kept me guessing what could come next. I stopped what I was doing for a time of reflection. I could hear the whispers within asking me about the themes and individuals in my mind that dominated my thinking. It was an interesting contrast between what I would describe as my centre and how life reflected something different through my words and actions. I wondered if I was willing to face the mirror.
Words and actions reveal more than the aspirations and dreams within. I love my imagination and the story it tells. I see ideas at play, strategic changes, life-impacting gifts, and unconditional embraces. A different picture emerges when I watch the replay of what unfolded yesterday and the day before. I can use what is real to reach for what can be.
Compassion triumphs justice, kindness trumps being first, and care is bigger than pain. I found myself considering what is most important to me. Experience reminded me that Divinity in all her forms is “far higher than any angel in rank and rule.” (Hebrews 1.4) There are times when I lose sight of this, letting the minor gods of my life take charge. When I embrace Divinity, letting the everyday aspects of my life take shape with Her, the best of life dominates.
In the competition for one is most important, we can all win. Games with only one winner are so common that it is hard to imagine that there can be more than one. In appreciating shared beauty and the experience of an unconditional embrace, I see a universe where every child can win. We share opportunities to experience and share love. In a common struggle to be accepted and wanted, we can know what it means to be unconditionally embraced. It starts with Divinity. It continues with our gifts to our communities.
