Empowerment

Leadership is about sharing a dream and giving people a place in that dream.  Great leaders paint a picture so real you believe you are living in the dream.  Everything is possible!  Everything is achievable.  And, now comes the clincher, you have a role in making the dream a reality!  You carry the confidence and will make the difference between dream state and real living. 
 
When asked to describe what I feel and sense about my piece of the puzzle the key word in the answer is empowered.  I am part of the inner circle that has been brought in to hear what is possible.  I am part of the special team that carries the authority to act.  What I have been task to do is aligned perfectly with the thirsts of my soul.  Some people call this using my talents but all I know is that I really want, desire, and long to take on the challenge.  I was born for this!  I know when can do it.  Until this moment I never realized that this was possible.  Now I know!  Now I can make a difference!  Now everything is real!
 
I have felt empowered at different times in my life.  Far too often I find myself struggling for a sense of the dream, my role in it, and even getting excited about the potential of what could happen.  When I look around, in staff meetings, people working at their desk and even in casual conversations on the edges of work, I find people searching for the dream, wanting to belong, hoping to make a difference.
 
 The empowerment doesn’t end there.  The harsh reality is that “a slave is a transient, who can't come and go at will.  The Son [Jesus], though, has an established position, the run of the house.  So if the Son sets you free, you are free through and through.”  (John 8.35, 36) 
 
Imagine a world and family with unlimited compassion, mercy, and acceptance spilling out on every corner!  Imagine a world where you and I make a difference.  Imagine today.
