There is a growing phrase we use in business that I think will eventually become part of everyone’s word list. The phrase is End-to-end or E2E. The reason the phrase has moved beyond being a trendy clich? is rooted in the fact that problems and solutions are often deal with at the symptom level or one level deeper. It used to be extremely rare for the analyst or team of people working on a given problem or opportunity to extend the scope of their view to the extreme beginning and full completion. As a result, problems were only half dealt with and opportunities often failed for reasons that could have easily been anticipated. Today the term is probably used too freely however by using E2E the reviewer has the opportunity to question and challenge before the solution is implemented.
When I think of the discipline we are using in the office I quickly conclude that this isn’t something that is original or unique. A segment of society has looked at problems holistically E2E for generations if not centuries! Wisdom knew this and even commented on a specific example: “She doesn’t worry about her family when it snows; their winter clothes are all mended and ready to wear. She makes her own clothing, and dresses in colorful linens and silks.” (Proverbs 31.21, 22)
See life holistically, anticipate problems and opportunities, take action for various contingencies, and along the way look after your self as well.
Isn’t this what we are to do with our lives? If one combines this with the Divine and God’s offer of recreation everything is complete E2E! Look at the steps.
See life holistically. We see our souls for what they really are as well as how God looks at us. In this process self esteem is defined by God’s view.
Anticipate problems and act. Look around, see what is going on. Don’t hesitate. Compassion rules in real action!
Take care of your self. This will be an automatic outcome. Trust God, walk with the Spirit; follow the lead.
A complete E2E solution.
