Today’s dawn was a classic Abu Dhabi beginning to a summer day. The sky has a dusty feel, shaped by a familiar combination of mist coming off the sea combined with the dust from the sands surrounding the city. As I walked, the morning reflection caught my attention. To the left is one of the original Abu Dhabi hotels, first established when there were only two paved roads in the city. In the centre is the skyline that followed, highlighted by Abu Dhabi’s World Trade Centre. For those who believed, the promise is paying off, and there is more, much more, to come.
Great dreams can take time. I smile when I admit to being a slow learner. I love the fact that I am still eager to learn and grow. This combination tells me I am not yet done with the person I am. I am, at my best and worst, a building under construction. I am not worried about the time I have spent and continue to spend in this area. I am grateful for friends, family, and Divinity for the space and support that continues to be there for me in my journey.
Promises will be fulfilled. I had a restless youth and a challenging transition to a place of peace. I wish I could have a redo so those close to me would not have to go through the dramas of my creation. Each event along the way has contributed to who I am today. Hopefully, I have become kinder, more caring, and, above all, compassionate. My drive has been augmented by experiencing being loved, accepted, and even forgiven. The result is an inner confidence in Divinity’s promises. Having experienced Her touch, I hope everyone realises this gift is available. Abraham’s promise remains on the table; “Abraham stuck it out and got everything that had been promised to him.” (Hebrews 6.15)
The challenge with every dawn lies in mustering the will and courage to stay the course. We need kindness, care, and forgiveness. I can deliver each to those sharing the path.
