I don’t believe that sleep is the only thing required to keep us energized. Life takes something more. This week has had too many important meetings, critical moments for selling ideas, and times where important decisions had to be taken for the future. Today I will find communicating good and bad news to several people, some who will find themselves on news paths for the future.
I find there is far more than just physical energy driving the agenda. The x-factor that comes into the equation is mysterious; I don’t know anyone who finds it easy to describe. To me it is the state one finds oneself in when truth based hope, vision, and passion meet and mix. The cocktail is something that others often find strange but it isn’t that unusual. In fact anyone can partake. The more willing the more effective the impact usually is.
Go back in time and you can find those with influence beyond imagination talking about the same combination. “Jesus said, ‘The food that keeps me going is that I do the will of the One who sent me, finishing the work he started.’” (John 4.34) Others have described it as a filling of the Spirit, possession of the soul, and overwhelming possession of a passion. Whatever it is I can personally testify to its energizing abilities! This week I had more of the drink than in recent past; it is addictive!
The way that one is able to partake is relatively simple.
The mix always includes hope based on a compassionate and mercy fill view of the future. Others describe it differently yet the role of compassion and mercy are key ingredients for their pictures as well.
Included in a desire to know, express, and be in the vision of the future. Listen to a musician who passionately believes in his or her music and you know exactly what I mean.
The final ingredient is the power of a God who embodies love, mercy, and compassion as self defining characteristics.
This is energy, real life sustaining, changing, nurturing energy.
