“Hallelujah! You who serve God, praise God! Just to speak his name is praise!” Psalm 113.1
Letting life catch you is just too easy. The hustle starts before you wake up, schedules, tasks, goals, and things that were due yesterday, all crowds your mind before you have stepped out of bed. Recharging your mind’s batteries, recovering your inner self is a challenge. I find great worship is an excellent way to take care of business.
Two events topped my tank. Worshipping with Steve and the team in the morning; songs of faith, songs of hope, and commitment chants focused my praise on God. His name was fresh, real, and present. My understanding of my values, priorities, and dreams came into clear view. There is no doubt in my mind about what I hold most important. I find myself carrying a failure burden, knowing that I will drop the ball again and then again. As I understood, that God knows all this and more I realized that God’s love for me has nothing to do with my behavior. God loves me just as I am. God cries when I fail because he knows I am hurting myself. God reaches out to me with arms of mercy, grace, and assurance. The choice of healing is mine alone. Praise fills the tank!
Worshipping with Liselle, Jeremy, and David took me right back into God’s room. It is not enough to just come and say thank-you; it is time for more! God is willing to fill-up your tank with super-spirit. God wants to give you all the best in life! God’s dream is that you get the most life can offer, a heaven on earth. The choice of living is mine alone. God is the answer to all my needs.
Letting life overwhelm you is just too easy. God asks us to trust Him to keep our tanks full. God will be the barrier to any and every flood, if we center on the present moment in him. God believes you are special. Letting go to God is your fill-up.
