The subjects at hand were innovation and transformation. In many situations, the two words describe the same coin. The link between them revolves around individuals. In order to embrace something new, you and I must be willing to be different than what we were. If we are willing, then a series of invitations, doors, and opportunities emerge.
As I shared my views on potential keys that could help team leaders, the question returned to the third mantra – three to twelve to infinity.
“What is that? How does it work?”
“When you want to reach for more, one can never do it alone. It takes others. If you are trying to lead a team, there is a sequence that ensures success. Find three individuals that share your vision in ways that are greater than you ever imagined. They will find her/his three along with you finding three more. If you accomplish the first two steps, you can reach infinity.”
As I told stories of how this had worked, I realized that there was an intangible part to the story that I have experienced but never candidly expressed. When one is united with others in a truth fill vision, God is present. The power of the three in the equation changes with the infusion of the Spirit. Without taking anything away from what we did as a team in the past, God played a role in our success. The God I know does not discriminate. S/he is willing to support every truth filled cause that is filled with compassion, mercy, and good for others.
A Spirit infusion is the secret ingredient to success. This Spirit knows no boundaries, is not limited by our language or institutions. One writer observed what happens when the Spirit is involved in the transformation of our souls. “The seed sown is natural; the seed grown is supernatural—same seed, same body, but what a difference from when it goes down in physical mortality to when it is raised up in spiritual immortality!” (1 Corinthians 15.44)
The Spirit promise is here now, for everyone.
