Inspiration

I enjoy looking through a lens.  The process of capturing a moment in time, having the opportunity to share, and wondering if others “get” what I’ve already received is filled with hope, even when others don’t.  It is as if the process itself works.  The one addition which enhances everything is when someone else models the process and I find myself engaged just as I hope others engage.  The inspiration which they give, often without any apparent effort or knowledge, is overwhelming.
 
Just this morning I received a note of encouragement from a new friend.  The truth of the words was unmistakable.  I found myself energized in ways I could have never imagined as I woke from the short nap someone called a night’s sleep.  Yesterday I was confronted in compassion by a casual friend, holding me to account in my efforts to reach forward into the unknown.  Even though I have not made much progress, the act of concern and care energized and encouraged me to take another step towards a personal goal. 
 
As I reflect in the dawn of a new day I find myself observing the actions of those around me.  It is as if “each morning he'll[/she’ll] pull on sturdy work clothes and boots, and build righteousness and faithfulness in the land.” (Isaiah 11.5)  I doubt they realize the work they have engaged in.  They are partners with Divinity!  They are messengers of hope and inspiration.  They lay the foundations on which you and I can stand.
 
Experience suggests that the process didn’t and doesn’t ever end.  There are so many engaged in wonder of life, reaching out with Divine hands, ears, and voice – they are here to help you, me, and anyone willing to receive the gift. 
 
Inspiration is a unique gift.  Without use it will wither and die.  You and are in a wonderful garden.  We have people in our lives that genuinely and truthfully care.  We carry the knowledge of their gift.  This knowledge, because of its truth, changes us from the inside out.  It’s our turn to engage.
