“Your love, God, is my song, and I’ll sing it!” Psalm 89.1
Everyone continues to experience God grace, though most of the time individuals are blind to it. Little things keep working out, difficult problems solve themselves before their time, and good things happen when it is least expected. Additionally, friends are there to help, guide, and comfort when you have no reason to expect or demand this to be so.
I have not forgotten the pain and suffering all around us. It is real and constant. I believe that pain is not from God; rather pain is a challenge to God, part of the accusation. Evil accuses God of being unfair. Pain is part of the accusation; the logic is bizarre but goes like this. God is unfair because created beings are not equal to God. Every created being should have the ability to stand equal to God. Therefore, God stands responsible for everyone’s freedom of choice and their outcomes. God is responsible for pain.
The answer is simple; God does not author pain, we do. Some pain is the result of decisions made generations ago, other is directly linked to decisions of yesterday.
The response is equally simple; God responds to the good and the bad in the same way every day, with love, grace, and unconditional acceptance. God spends most of his time working to let you and I know just how much he loves and accepts us. The primary way to show this is through surprise acts of grace; beauty when we least expect it, a helping hand from someone who will gain nothing from the act, and challenges overcome with simplicity and timing. The question is for us is of recognition and response.
Do I realize God is working in my life? Did I give God credit for cutting a meeting short so I could get home on time? Is my understanding that God loves me stronger because of the incredible gift of friendship show to me? Yes! God is my song and I am going to sing! Come; join in!
