“Let my cry come right into your presence, God; provide me with the insight that comes only from your Word.” Psalm 119.169
I see precious life all around me and ignore it most of the time. Busy with life, focused on good things, I look right through important events resting at my feet. This morning I could not look through or away.
An accident beside the walkway from the train station locked my heart. A person covered in a red blanket. Two paramedics kneeling beside the lifeless body, not moving very quickly. A young women kneeling by the head, holding on, not yet ready to say goodbye. Fifteen minutes later the ambulance slowly moved away carrying any sense of urgency. The white vehicle disappeared along with the early morning mist and dew.
The participants could be you or me on any given day. We could be one of several roles. Victim or injured. We could be directly involved or just fighting our participation on the edges. Life could be final or just a jarring turn of confusion. We could be part of this or wondering why it happens to anyone.
God let my cry come right into your presence. Answer me. Give me the insight that comes only from love and truth. Please!
The issues and choices for each of us are plain if we open our eyes and ears. We know, in these truth moments, that we must choose our path. We understand but we too often refuse to act. We hope, beyond hope, that someone will take the choice away from us. If only life would be as in our dreams! If only, everyone could have the best experience life offers.
The reality of life is that we already experience the best, and worse, life offers. Bad things happen to good people. Good things happen to very bad people. God blesses everyone with equality. Evil targets everyone with equality. Is there any hope?
Yes, one finds it in the heart of God! God loves all with unconditional grace and acceptance. God is our Life.
