I listened to a wise man pass on his secrets of successful living, as I rode in the back of his taxi.  I found myself in awe of his ability to link life in the ordinary to the essence of living.  There were two elements that reminded me of the importance of living each day to the full.  First, beauty, wonder, and living occur in ordinary events.  This is the place where one will find God active.  It is where everything is happening!  It is where you are I are called to be.  Secondly, it is not enough to observe moments, we need to live remember, connecting, and understanding.  We should pursue knowing ourselves honestly from the inside out.  We should be willing to see others where and how they are.  We should be willing to accept God's gifts to and for us.
The challenge occurs in our lives and in our understanding of others.  When God is active and we are engaged, incredible things happen!  We see and even participate in the work of God.  We deliver compassion.  We transport mercy.  We give birth to Hope. 
There is an underlying foundation in the way I understand my God that allows me to see how God does this in context of what is going on around me.  God has lived out this model and has taken the decision to engage us in the process.  Everything is possible but it starts in the ordinary and realizes itself in how we link the pieces of the puzzle with our values and actions.  As simple or complex as this might sound, the underlying mechanics are quite simple.  Look for beauty, compassion – recognize God in truth.  Connect this to the values one holds close to one's heart.  Act in harmony truth and one's heart.  The rest will come from God.
