The wall art was familiar, though not in the way I first imagined. I started with a view that I had seen it before. With time, I found myself going through different art forms and pictures, searching for an artist or genre. As time passed, I realised my reaction was being triggered by whispers sharing reminder lessons that I could take with me.
Today’s dawn brings fresh reminders of the commentary I found on the wall. Each is a reminder of the past as well as the future, guiding me in the priorities and choices with what I have now.
Being open to what life offers is a doorway is living life to the maximum. Some call it wanderlust. I call it openness with curiosity and care. Life is never found in looking for the predictable. Life and living to the maximum are found in being fully present in the moment that is now. I do not know what it will be. I do know that it will be an opportunity to bring my heart and soul, ready to act with compassionate caring. I know I will not always bring my best. In this knowledge, every step is an opportunity to learn, grow, and step boldly into the next with the belief that my caring will lead to a better future.
My sight will lead me to focus on the priorities and values of my heart. In this space, I will see far more than I imagine. In filtering out the noise and chatter, I have a canvas to express my best intentions. As I remember framed moments in time, I realise how “All our praise is focused through Jesus on this incomparably wise God! Yes!” (Romans 16.27). In the embrace of Divinity defined by love, kindness, and care, I discover the best life has to offer. Each moment etched on my heart. Each frame influencing my response in this moment.
Community and sharing define life. It is in relationships and being together under life’s tent that I realise the power of acceptance, respect, and belonging.
