The mist off the Arabian Gulf leads to a soft and fuzzy beginning to the day. Standing on the balcony, in the cool breeze, the mist feels and looks dusty. I see it in silence. There is a gentle interruption with the morning sounds of Al Reem Island beginning to wake and move. As the time of fasting arrives and the morning prayer passes, one can feel a combination of peace and possibilities. The Whispers were reminding me of the guide rails I could hold.
Pause, reflection, and consideration are essential ingredients to my day. What began for me as a journey of exploration, has slowly moved into an essential part of being grounded and intentional. There are many variations of this dish for my heart and soul. As I watched the sun begin its climb through the hazy mist, I found myself metaphorically stepping into the day ahead with anticipation.
Awareness and understanding are essential to growth. `At times I catch myself rushing off in a new direction. I watched and listened to memories and past reflections, understanding my actions in the light of more divine insights. With this in hand, I see the opportunities today with clarity and conviction. The mist is clearing as the light burns its way through.
Every day, each moment is a new opportunity. At times one notes the milestone like an author did years ago; “Now that there is no more pioneering work to be done in these parts, and since I have looked forward to seeing you for many years,” (Romans 15.23). On other occasions, one hears the calling to continue the work and press on to the goal.
With rest, recovery, and reflection, it is time for action. I see my name on several tasks at hand. The day is here! I know there are unseen barriers and challenges ahead. I also know that I have more help than I imagine. In accepting offers of divine support, of being accepted and loved, I see the doorways ahead where kindness and care are keys to a better place.
