The space under renovation was relatively quiet and, in a simple way, messy. Various objects were lying around; however, with most objects having a shade of white, it was difficult to anticipate what the results were intended to be. The idea that one could explain and give notice in one sentence triggered a reflection that continues into this morning.
Am I willing to look beyond whatever is immediate and see the larger story? As dominating as the white was, I knew there was so much more to hear, understand, and learn. I smiled in the moment, knowing I was opening a door that would continue to invite me into greater awareness and an opportunity to step into the possibilities I imagined. As today starts, what I have taken away from the lesson includes the following.
Insights are waiting for me in every moment. Insights are with me, waiting for my attention and interest. Even as I see the first layer, I hear a whisper inviting me to look for the second and the third. The discovery is fun and challenging. I hold an invitation to be on the inside with Divinity, to see, feel, and respond with compassion, kindness, and care. There is a window to see and understand with compassion and empathy. Once the process starts, new doorways come into focus. Each brings new ways of improving today and continuing the journey towards a better future.
Deep connections come with intensity. Life expands in response to my commitment, passion, and willingness to be involved. Beyond the simple sign, there were tools and details. Being willing to hear and see reminded me of plans, arrangements, and work. It put the prophet’s message into a fresh context; “Moses said to the people, ‘This is the blood of the covenant God has established with you.’ Practically everything in a will hinges on a death. That’s why blood, the evidence of death, is used so much in our tradition, especially regarding forgiveness of sins.” (Hebrews 9.22)
Divinity gifts me with signs; what comes from them is up to me.
