“Blessed be the Lord – day after day he carries us along.” Psalm 68.19
Understanding your preferred way of working with others and style of learning can be helpful if you accept responsibility for your relationships and ongoing personal development. There are great insights into how you see yourself that can reduce or even eliminate conflict. Understanding the way you approach and solve problems provides a tool to reduce the stress we carry because we may not do it “the right way”. Knowing where to focus your learning time and energy avoids wasting time focusing on your strengths.
The foundation for this is a simple premise. Every individual carries a preferred style, there is no right or wrong. Individual styles work well on some edges with other styles while grating on others. There is no “right or wrong” style, our style is our preference. We control the present and the future.
Maybe, but does this work in our God relationship? Is there a way of understanding how we prefer to interact and working with God on it? Do we understand who God is, what God does? Is there no right or wrong in our God relationship?
Many presume that there is only one way to interact with God. Do it this way or hell will come your way! The Bible does not have this kind of picture on display. People of all types, kings, commoners, thieves, prostitutes, and priests to name just a few. All types with the full range of preferred styles. God preference is simple and straightforward.
God’s style is to describe how he will act and what he will do in intimate detail. God commits that he will relate to us no matter what our style is, carry no bias from what we have done, and without conditions. God went out and took care of the relationship issues before we knew him, just in case we might want to know him. God commits to take on difficult life challenges when we are in relationship with him.
God prefers us. What is our preference?
