“Strong God, I’m watching you do it, I can always count on you – God, my dependable love.” Psalm 59.17

Throwing everything into God’s camp is an awesome experience! Just toss it all, up and away toward God. Let is loose; he will catch anything worthwhile and jettison the rest. David did this consistently and it worked! I tried it yesterday and it worked as well!

Hitting the end of one’s rope is, at best, unpleasant. Why one allows one’s self to get to this point is questionable, however we all find ourselves there at one time or another. The continuing question is what we should do when we get there. Do we plead innocence and demand that God do something to fix the problem? Can we be honest about how we got there and plead to God for help? Will we admit our weakness and failings, and turn to the source of love and acceptance? Can we find rest and recovery or is it a result of something else?

David frequently faced this problem and took a consistent approach in his response. His approach is one I can follow.

Be honest to yourself and God about how you got there.
Be absolutely clear in your emotions with God.
If you are angry, express the specifics of your anger.
If you want God to do something, tell him what, where, and why you want it done.
If you are depressed, battered, or bruised and want to say something, do it.
If you are excited about an outcome, do not be quiet.
Be willing to give everything up, and this means everything!
Be willing to leave everything with God, and this means everything!
Exercise confidence, faith, assurance, and absolute blind loyalty.
Walk in confidence of his peace, assurance, and love!

Vengeance is mine says God, and I don’t forget a thing!
Since God is taking on all the tough challenges, we face our most difficult question. Are we willing to live in faith? It always comes back to the same question. A “yes” brings awesome peace and restoration!
