The art piece in the corner of the room was speaking to me from the moment we met. At that moment, I knew I needed to hear my song again, as if it was the first time. Today’s reflection is a memo to self. A reminder of the awareness and understanding of how the pieces fit, at least for me. It is a lesson that Life has taken me back to in many ways. While the setting and experience vary, at its core is the message that shapes the way I see, learn, and grow.
Divinity, in all her forms, is captured in the words love, acceptance, and compassion. Divine love is without conditions, boundaries, or an expiration. Divinity is the essence and manifestation of love. Divinity’s acceptance is universal, proactive, and eternal. As an individual, I am part of a Divine family that I cannot escape, deny, or disavow. Divinity love and acceptance combine to create of bond of togetherness that cannot be broken. In sorrow, pain, and suffering, Divinity is with me. In joy and celebration, Divinity is with me.
The choice of being in a Divine relationship is mine. When I start with my understanding of Divinity, knowing how to be in a relationship is clear. “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life – your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life – and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.” (Romans 12.1)
The world around me is filled with people in and out of relationship with Divinity. One can see the revelation of choices made in the forms of good and evil, community-centred and selfishness. The conflicts around us challenge us to live through our Divine embrace. Success is when we experience, for ourselves and others, kindness, care, and belonging.
Each day is an opportunity to act on my life’s song by singing in harmony, acting with kindness, and speaking with care. May success and blessing be today’s story.
