I have a premise, difficult to prove, but subjectively I can testify of its validity. The premise is this; people who manage, lead, or exercise authority are incredibly effective when the beliefs and priorities they embrace are in sync with God. When they are out of sync, their effectiveness is directly correlated to the power, energy, and charisma they can develop on their own.
The premise goes on to add the following. If their specific action carries the legitimacy of God’s endorsement, then no matter what else is going on in their life, their action carries a portion of God’s power with it.
Secondary evidence that I would present includes many of today’s leading politicians. Corrupt in ways I do not want to imagine, these individuals occasionally embrace the compassionate actions to which God calls each of us. In that moment, their faults are put aside and their action carries more legitimacy and power. It is as if God wants to testify to the truth and witness of his character, reluctant to lose any opportunity to show the world what He stands for and represents.
God does not put any restrictions on his help. Bluntly he states that “with my help, leaders rule, and lawmakers legislate fairly; with my help, governors govern, along with all in legitimate authority.” (Proverbs 8.15,16)
The primary evidence actually echoes the secondary, just on a personal level. I would like to believe that I do not carry the corrupt baggage of today’s politicians, however I think it is merely a different brand and color. Is anyone’s load really that different? What I can testify to is the power and change that comes when I put God’s values into action. Compassionate decisions change my soul’s view of itself as much as it touches others. Acts of unconditional acceptance carry the power to change the course of history as it is made. It is as if the compassion, mercy, love, and acceptance carried power within!
Do you want success? Live out God’s values. Be careful; it will change your life in the process.
