Timing

In every moment in life, timing is crucial.  One needs more than the opportunity, one must be prepared.  One needs more than a position, one needs the courage to act.  One needs more than allies, one needs awareness that now is the moment at hand. 
There is an old God promise that I often forget about.  It was not exclusive.  It applied to God's kids then and now, to those before me as well as to you and me.  It is a simple promise that comes with far more than one might initially realize.  “When the time comes, I'll pour out my Spirit on those who serve me, men and women both, and they'll prophesy.”  (Acts 2.12)
We carry incredible potentials within our hearts and souls.  We carry expressions of creativity and hope.  We carry expressions of leadership and standing up for the weak.  We carry the ability to make a difference to those in need.  We may not know that we carry these gifts and more, but God does.  We may not have the strength to exercise our gifts, but God has strength to give.  We may not even have the awareness of what we can do in any given situation, yet God's Spirit is here to guide, instruct, and strengthen.
Today is a window to be present and available for those in our lives.  Our hearts can reach out to those we are separated from.  We can share our armor, wrapping our sense of peace and hope around them.  Our hearts can be present to those we find ourselves with.  We can listen intently, letting our souls nurture theirs.  We can be fully and completely in the moment, walking together if only for a time.  We can let our lives be God's touch – for others and for our self.
Each moment in time has a purpose.  You and I have an opportunity to step into those moments today, walking with God, being with God's family.  It is a unique window.  It is also precious.  It is our opportunity to engage in really living.
