“God’s words are pure words, pure silver words refined seven times in the fires of His word-kiln” Psalm 12.6
“There are no accidents.” The words of a traveler echoed in the car long into the night.
Two strangers began a ride to New York discovering along the way a common path. The conversation showed us how works to give us spiritual direction. God walks with many on the journey. God likes to introduce us to each other.
Is this a random event? Can we expect to meet others with a thirst to know God? What is our responsibility for others?
The questions and dialogue seemed to stretch forever. The journey is already a distant memory yet the conversation is fresh and still moving. How would you answer the questions?
Our definition, understanding and acceptance of “God” determine the answer. If our God is one of love and grace, if our God is an active part of our life, if God is a priority in my reality of living life our answers are straightforward.
A God defined by grace, who is active in people’s lives, must be an awesome and powerful force.
Question number one, do we accept this fact? If we want God to be a reality then decisions we make have different criteria. If we really believe in this God then, no matter how we live, we are on a quest to determine the destination of our eternal souls.
I am not sure about you but this conclusion scares me to the end of my toenails. I am so far away from the model. How can I live up to God’s standard?
David’s Psalms provides the answers. God’s bar of success is clear. Success if when we desire, quest, and thirst after God with everything we have and are. God does the rest.
God’s bar of success outlines our relationship to people we meet. We nurture and support their desire, their quest, and their thirst after God in anyway we can. God does the rest.
I really like this God. Want to share the journey?
